TL;DR: Two Cebu claims survive checking. Cebu Doctors University passed 73 of 81 first-time takers in the October 2025 medical boards, and Cebu International School states it is the first IB continuum school in the Philippines, accredited by the IBO, ACS WASC, CIS and EARCOS. On the University of San Carlos side, its pharmacy department was PRC top-performing school nationally in 2015 and 2025. What does not survive: every tuition figure this page used to carry.
What Was Removed and Why
This guide previously gave an annual or per-semester tuition range for all fourteen schools, and for three of them a numerical ranking score — "a near-perfect 99.7", "third-highest with a score of 98.9", "top 10 private schools for 2025".
Those scores came from no named source. No Philippine body ranks private schools numerically. And none of the tuition ranges corresponded to a schedule any of the schools publishes.
All of it is gone. What follows is organised by whether a claim can be checked.
The Cebu Claims That Check Out
Cebu Doctors University — Physician Licensure Examination
From the PRC's own Performance of Schools table:
| Cycle | Cebu Doctors | National |
|---|---|---|
| October 2025, first-time takers | 73/81 (90.12%) | 3,517/4,004 (87.84%) |
| October 2025, overall | 91/101 (90.10%) | 4,570/5,897 (77.50%) |
| March 2026, overall | 30/34 (88.24%) | 1,954/2,781 (70.26%) |
Above the national figure in every column, on a cohort large enough to mean something. It is the strongest verifiable health-science result in the city.
One caution that has nothing to do with the teaching: CDU's website was returning an account-suspended notice when we checked, so nothing on its current programmes or fees could be read from the institution itself. Contact admissions directly.
University of San Carlos — pharmacy
USC's own Department of Pharmacy page states the PRC recognised it as top-performing school of pharmacy in the Philippines for 2015 and 2025, second top-performing for 2011, 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2024, and a Top Performing School twenty times since 1996. It states it is home to the highest number of licensure topnotchers in Southern Philippines, and that in 2025 it opened the first CHED-approved PharmD and MS Pharmaceutical Sciences outside Luzon. Its BS Pharmacy is PAASCU Level IV accredited.
These are USC's own published claims rather than figures we confirmed against a PRC release — but a claim this specific, published under the school's name, is a different order of evidence from a listicle range. Our best pharmacy schools in Cebu guide goes into it.
Cebu International School — accreditation
CIS publishes the full IB continuum: Early Years, Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme, and states it is the first IB continuum school in the Philippines. It displays authorisation or accreditation from the International Baccalaureate Organization, ACS WASC, the Council of International Schools and EARCOS, and states a 100% IBDP pass rate.
It also publishes a School Fees and Payment Schedule for 2026-27 through its admissions portal — the only Cebu school in this guide that publishes a fee document at all, even if it sits behind an enquiry step.

Wesley Primrose Academy appeared on the previous version of this list on the strength of a ranking score we could not source, and is not in our directory. It has been dropped rather than carried on an unverifiable claim.
Senior High in Cebu Works Differently Now
If you are choosing for Grade 11, the strand question is obsolete. DepEd Order No. 017, s. 2026 removed the strand layer, leaving two tracks, Academic and Technical-Professional, with five clusters of electives inside the Academic Track: Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities; Business and Entrepreneurship; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; Sports, Health and Wellness; and Field Experience.
| Learner | Structure that applies |
|---|---|
| Grade 11 from SY 2026-2027 onward | Two tracks, no strands, five Academic elective clusters |
| Grade 12 in a non-pilot school, SY 2026-2027 | The old tracks and named strands |
| Grade 12 from SY 2027-2028 onward | No strands |
Ask a Cebu school which electives it will actually run, not which clusters it lists. A school is not required to offer everything in a cluster. Our academic strands guide explains the change.
How to Choose in Cebu
Ask for the schedule of fees in writing. Only CIS publishes a fee document, and even that is behind an enquiry. Ask what sits outside tuition and whether the figure is per year or per semester.
Ask for passers and examinees, by cycle, for any college programme with a board exam. Two numbers, three cycles.
Ask what is accredited and at what level. USC publishes PAASCU Level IV for BS Pharmacy specifically. International schools carry ACS WASC, CIS or IBO authorisation. Institution-level name-dropping is a different claim.
Weigh curriculum against destination. An IB or Cambridge programme is aimed at universities abroad. If the plan is a Philippine university, the K to 12 route is the direct one and is far cheaper.
Treat Metro Cebu traffic as a real constraint. Banilad and Pit-os are north, the university cluster is in the city centre, and the difference between those two on a school morning is substantial. Do the journey at the actual hour.
Visit two or three in person. Open houses show the school it wants to be; a normal school day shows the school it is.

Disclaimer: licensure figures describe the cycles named and change every examination period. Recognitions attributed to a school are that school's own published claims. Where this page says a school publishes no fee schedule, that means we could not find one, not that the school has no fees. Confirm everything with the school before applying.
