Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan

Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan (XU) is a Catholic, Jesuit-run university in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, founded in 1933 as Ateneo de Cagayan and renamed in 1958 in honor of St. Francis Xavier. It was the first higher education institution in Mindanao to receive university status. XU's basic education campus in Pueblo de Oro offers grade school, junior high school, and senior high school under the Academic (STEM, ABM, HUMSS, GAS) and Technical-Vocational tracks. At the college level, XU runs undergraduate schools including the College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Computer Studies, College of Engineering, College of Nursing, the School of Business and Management, and the School of Education, along with the Xavier Ateneo College of Law and the Dr. Jose P. Rizal School of Medicine. Several programs — including Accountancy, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, and Elementary and Secondary Education — hold PAASCU Level IV accreditation, with Agriculture at Level III and multiple engineering, nursing and computing programs at Level II. XU is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia-Pacific (AJCU-AP).
