Xavier School

Xavier School is a private Catholic school for boys in San Juan, Metro Manila, run by the Jesuits for the Chinese-Filipino community. It traces its origin to 1956, when Jesuit missionaries expelled from mainland China opened Kuang Chi School in a converted warehouse in Echague, Manila, for around 170 children of Chinese immigrants. In 1960 the school relocated to a 7-hectare campus in what was then undeveloped land in Greenhills, San Juan, and was renamed Xavier School after St. Francis Xavier. It now covers Nursery through Grade 12 under the DepEd K-12 curriculum, alongside Chinese-language and Ignatian formation programs, and enrolls over 4,000 students. Xavier School holds PAASCU Level III accreditation, the highest level PAASCU grants to basic education institutions, and has been an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme since 2010. The school runs a Grant-in-Aid program that provides scholarships to qualified students who could not otherwise afford tuition, reflecting its stated commitment to making a Xavier education accessible beyond families who can pay full fees.
