University of Southeastern Philippines

University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) is a public state university headquartered in Davao City, created on December 15, 1978 by Batas Pambansa Blg. 12, which merged the Mindanao State University-Davao branch, the UP Master of Management Program in Davao, the Davao School of Arts and Trades, and the Davao National Regional Agricultural School. It was the first state university established in the Davao Region. USeP now operates across its Obrero main campus, Mintal, Tagum-Mabini, and an extension in Paquibato District, Davao City, offering programs in agriculture, forestry, engineering, business, computer science, and teacher education, plus the region's only state-run medical school at its Tagum-Mabini campus. Because it is a state university, tuition for qualified Filipino undergraduates is free under Republic Act No. 10931, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. USeP's Agriculture program and College of Education have both been recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as a Center of Excellence, with additional Centers of Development previously granted in Information Technology, English, and Forestry. Its programs also carry accreditation from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). The university was granted autonomous status by the Philippine government in 2008. Admission is through the USeP College Admission Test.
