UCV offers a wide array of academic programs. Their strength is maritime courses and IT. They also have elementary and high school curriculum.

The University has continued to produce quality graduates needed by the society and a number of them have been passers, even topnotchers, of Bar and Board Examinations and Licensures. To ensure this, the University continuously undergoes PACUCOA accreditation. To date, the programs and their levels of accreditation are as follows: Five Programs (Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Criminology and Information Technology) are Level III 1st Reaccredited Two (Liberal Arts and Business Administration) are Level II 4th Reaccredited One (Social Work) is Level II Reaccredited One (Vocational Technology – Automotive) is Level I Reaccredited - Formal Six (MAED, MBA, MPA, Nursing, High School Laboratory and Elementary Laboratory) are Level 1 Reaccredited Two (Doctor of Philosophy in Education and Master of Justice in Criminology) have a candidate status The University operates under a Quality Management System institutionally based on the applicable elements of ISO 9001:2015 and DNVGL Standard 0029 particularly for Maritime Education Programs. Considering the rapid societal changes brought about by new technologies and social media sites, the University keeps pace by continuously strengthening its research, upgrading its instruction and expanding its horizons along community extension. A milestone in the University’s history was the passing of the leadership torch. On September 5, 2019, Dr. Victor V. Perez, after 39 years of long and dedicated service, bequeathed the University Presidency to Dr. Esther Susan N. Perez-Mari, MSc-FM, MD, PhD, an eminent and internationally reputed scientist-researcher who is now leading and maintaining the global competitiveness and comparability of the University of Cagayan Valley in consonance with its Philosophy, Vision and Mission.
