University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P)

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) is a private Catholic university in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, guided in the spirit of Opus Dei. It traces its roots to the Center for Research and Communication (CRC), a think tank founded in 1967 by economists Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao and Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas, both Harvard graduates, to conduct economic and social research and offer graduate courses in economics. CHED approved its elevation to university status in 1995, when it took the name University of Asia and the Pacific. UA&P offers undergraduate, graduate and executive programs through its School of Economics, School of Management, School of Media and Marketing, School of Politics and Governance, School of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, School of Education and Human Development, College of Arts and Sciences, and the UA&P Law School, alongside senior high school and a Child Development and Education Center. The university is particularly known for its economics, management and communication programs, and its main campus in Ortigas Center also has a satellite presence in Cebu.
