Surigao Education Center
Surigao Education Center is a private, non-sectarian, non-stock school on the National Highway (Km. 2) in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. It was established in 1978 as Surigao Medical Center School of Midwifery, the first midwifery school in Surigao, and was renamed Surigao Education Center in 1987 as it broadened its course offerings. Its nursing program began in 1991, and the school opened a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the 1993-1994 school year, later adding Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and a Basic Seaman Course. It now also offers Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor in Secondary Education, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, in addition to its basic education program from kindergarten through senior high school.
