STI West Negros University is a private university in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, founded in 1948 as West Negros College by three Baptist women educators, Luciana Aritao, Teresa Padilla and Rosario Remitio. The Commission on Higher Education granted it university status in 2008, making it West Negros University. STI Education Systems Holdings acquired a controlling interest in the school in 2013, and in 2015 STI College's nearby Lacson Street campus merged into the renovated Burgos Street campus, with the institution renamed STI West Negros University. It offers preschool and basic education, from elementary through junior high, via its School of Basic Education, plus Senior High School and college programs up to the doctorate level. Six of its programs, including BS Business Administration, Secondary Education, Elementary Education, Liberal Arts, and the MA in Education and Public Administration, hold Level IV accreditation from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). In September 2024, CHED granted the university autonomous status.

The university is okay, it got good facilities some of it are old but it's improving. The only thing is that when you process your papers in the registrar it takes longer expect a snail mail pace, that's how their system works.

To STI West Negros University, One of Brgy. Bata’s players, who is rumored to be the son of a coach and a varsity player of STI West Negros University, was allowed to participate in Games 1 and 2 of the finals without any issue. However, in contrast, a Brgy. Tangub player, who is also a varsity of the same university, was prevented from playing due to a letter from the school stating that participation in the league would result in the loss of his scholarship. This situation raises concerns about fairness and equal treatment of players. If one varsity player was allowed to play without consequences, it is only just that the same rule applies to all. The inconsistency in this enforcement may have affected the outcome of the finals and has led to disappointment among players, fans, and supporters of Brgy. Tangub. We hope that steps will be taken to prevent similar issues in future tournaments to ensure a fair and just competition for all participating teams.

Seriously, what is this school doing? Today is supposed to be a holiday, people's power. Yet STI still forced us to go to school despite other schools such as La Salle and San Agustin and many more closing for today. Not only that, we we're forced to wait an extra 30 minutes of practice when the designated time that were promised to us was 3:00-5:00 PM. Are you not considering the students who's classes have already ended? Where they are forced to wait longer especially longer than the expected time? Especially students who live further away and may have early schedules, tests or projects that needs to be finished. I can understand why the school may be forcing us to stay longer than usual, but at least turn on the AirCons in the gymnasium. Seriously, where is our tuition going? Even the speakers are glitching and the mic can be barely heard. What is the point of paying when you are forcing us to stay in a heated crowded area for 3 hours long and can go overtime. One last thing, it would've been fine IF the person who's saying "Last One" ACTUALLY meant it, you're teaching us the students that your words don't hold value at all in them when you say "Last One" then you force us to do another one ESPECIALLY when it's already passed the designated.
