Southern de Oro Philippines College (formerly Southern Philippines College) in Cagayan de Oro City was founded in 1981, formally approved by its incorporators on October 2, 1981 and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 19, 1981 as Southern Philippines Academy. It is a private, nonsectarian, co-educational school located on Julio Pacana Street in Cagayan de Oro. The college offers a full range of levels: preschool and kindergarten, elementary (Grades 1 to 6), junior high school, senior high school, college, graduate studies, and TESDA short courses. Its Senior High School offers the ABM, HUMSS, GAS and STEM academic strands, plus the Home Economics and Information and Communications Technology strands under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood track. College programs include Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Criminology, among others through its College of Teacher Education and other departments. The school is recognized by CHED, TESDA and DepEd for its respective programs.

We sponsored a student in the Education program and transferred her after one year. Terrible college, poor class standards, very old and incompetent teachers. No apparent standard for student behavior. The final straw was a teacher who encouraged the students to get drunk in order to find out who they are. Ridiculous.
