Saint Mary's Academy of Capiz

Saint Mary's Academy of Capiz (SMAC) is a private Roman Catholic school on P. Burgos Street in Roxas City, Capiz, run by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters. It was founded in 1947 and carries the motto "Initium Sapientiae Timor Domini" (The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom). SMAC offers Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary (Grades 1-6), Junior High School (Grades 7-10), and Senior High School, which opened in school year 2016-2017 as the school transitioned fully to the K to 12 curriculum after decades under the old 1945-2011 basic education system. At the senior high level it offers the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and ABM (Accountancy, Business and Management) tracks. The school is accredited by PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities). Its sports teams compete under the nickname "Marians." In December 2025 the Academy received the Roxas City Order of the Golden Heart Kasimanwa Institutional Citation of Merit in recognition of its educational and community service record.
