PSHS Main Campus is the flagship campus of the Philippine Science High School System, a specialized public high school system attached to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The system's first campus, now Main Campus, was established on June 22, 1963, in Diliman, Quezon City; the wider system was formalized by Republic Act 8496 in 1998 and now operates 16 campuses nationwide. PSHS Main Campus serves Grades 7 to 12 under a science- and mathematics-focused curriculum. Admission is competitive, primarily through the National Competitive Examination (NCE) taken by Grade 6 pupils who rank in the top 10% of their class or score at least 85% in science and mathematics; lateral admission and intercampus transfer are also available. Qualified students receive a full DOST scholarship covering tuition, free loan of textbooks, uniforms, and monthly stipends, with dormitory accommodation provided for students who need it. As a national science high school system campus, PSHS Main Campus does not offer elementary, kindergarten, or college programs.
