Pilar College of Zamboanga City, Inc.

Pilar College of Zamboanga City, Inc. is a private Catholic school on R.T. Lim Boulevard in Zamboanga City, run by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) sisters. It traces its roots to 1894, when RVM sisters who evacuated from Tamontaca, Cotabato started it as a Cartilla (catechism) school; it later added Primary and Elementary courses in 1914 and expanded into secondary and college education over the following decades. Today PCZC offers Pre-School through Senior High School plus college programs including Nursing, Information Technology, Business Administration, Elementary Education, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, and Library and Information Science. Its High School department earned PAASCU accreditation in 1987 and its Grade School followed in 1996. PCZC is one of the older Catholic schools in the Zamboanga Peninsula, serving students from Zamboanga City and the surrounding Zamboanga del Sur area.
