Northwestern University is a private university on Airport Road in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, established in 1932 and granted university status in 1992. It offers a full basic education program covering Preschool, Elementary, Junior High School and Senior High School, alongside undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. Its colleges include Allied Health Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business Education, Maritime Education, Teacher Education, Criminal Justice Education, Engineering, Architecture and Technology, International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, and a Law School. Graduate offerings include an MA in Education, a PhD in Development Education, an EdD in Educational Management, an MA in Nursing, an MS in Management Engineering, an MS in Criminal Justice Education, a PhD in Education and Leadership, and an MA in Public Administration. Long known as one of the leading higher education institutions in Ilocos Norte, and by some accounts the region's only private university, it serves students throughout the province and nearby areas of the Ilocos Region.
