Mindanao State University – General Santos

Mindanao State University - General Santos (MSU-GenSan) is a state university on a 156-hectare campus in Barangay Fatima, General Santos City. It began in 1967 as a community high school hosted inside Dadiangas West Elementary School, six years after the founding of the MSU System's Marawi main campus. It grew into a two-year junior college in 1971 and became a full collegiate campus of the MSU System on October 10, 1973, under Board of Regents Resolution No. 822. The Fatima campus was established after Presidential Proclamation 2029 in 1983. MSU-GenSan now operates colleges of Agriculture, Education, Fisheries, Engineering, Business Administration and Accountancy, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Social Sciences and Humanities, plus a Graduate School, a College of Law, a laboratory Junior High School, and a Senior High School Department. As a state university, qualified Filipino undergraduates are covered by free tuition and miscellaneous fees under RA 10931 (Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act). The university joined the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) in December 2014 and has since accredited several of its baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate programs.
