Manila Japanese School

Manila Japanese School (MJS) is a full-time day school attached to the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines, serving the children of Japanese nationals and Japanese-Filipino families in Metro Manila. It is located on 36th Street, University Parkway, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The school follows a Japanese curriculum aligned with Japan's Ministry of Education and is organized into an elementary division (shogakubu) and a junior high division (chugakubu); it does not offer a senior high school or kindergarten division. Instruction emphasizes Japanese-language maintenance and advancement alongside native-level English conversation classes, local and international understanding education, and swimming instruction. The school also runs a special-needs class and provides career guidance and Japanese high-school placement support for graduating students. As of April 2026, total enrollment across the elementary and junior high divisions was 497 students. Admission is open to new and transferring students each school year, coordinated with the Manila Japanese Association (Manira Nihonjinkai).
