Holy Trinity University

Holy Trinity University (HTU) in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan is the province's pioneer institution of higher learning, established in 1940 as Holy Trinity College Academy by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena. It opened with Kindergarten and Elementary classes before adding secondary education, a Pre-Nursing course, and a Graduate School by 1965. The Commission on Higher Education elevated Holy Trinity College to university status in December 2009 under CHED CEB Resolution No. 490-2009. HTU is a Catholic institution offering a full K-12 program, with Senior High School career tracks, alongside undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Its College of Nursing Education and programs in Liberal Arts and Business Administration have undergone PAASCU survey visits. As the first Catholic school in Palawan, HTU has long served as a training ground for teachers, nurses and other professionals across the province. The university continues to operate under Dominican Sisters administration, combining religious formation with academic programs spanning basic education through graduate studies in Puerto Princesa City.
