Computer Technologies Institute of Zamboanga City

Computer Technologies Institute of Zamboanga City (COMTECH) is a private institution in Barangay Baliwasan Chico, Zamboanga City, founded in 1991 as Comtech Software Center before growing into a full college. It is recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and TESDA. COMTECH's Senior High School department offers the Home Economics and Information and Communications Technology strands under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood track. At the college level, it offers undergraduate degrees in Information Systems and in Hotel and Restaurant Management. It also runs TESDA-registered short courses in areas such as hotel and restaurant services, tour guiding, computer programming, and electronics. COMTECH started with two computers and has since expanded to multiple computer laboratories and satellite labs hosted in other schools around Zamboanga City, plus a branch in Isabela City, Basilan. It serves as a smaller, career- and technology-focused alternative to the larger universities in Zamboanga City for students pursuing IT, hospitality, or TESDA-certified vocational training.
